Prosperity Yu Sheng ($49.80) from Kuriya Japanese Market

Since it’s the CNY season, we started off with their Prosperity Yu Sheng which will be available in their restaurant from 26 Jan till 22 Feb 2016. Other than helping us to refresh and clear our palate for the feast ahead, the sashimi were sliced to the perfect thickness. Their special refreshing Yuzu Yu Sheng sauce was also very different from the other sauces we have tried in other yu shengs – less sweet, a little tangy and very refreshing. We felt that their yu sheng is also priced very reasonably. For less than $50, we got 12 pieces of Salmon sashimi, 8 pieces of Hamachi (Yellowtail) sashimi and 8 pieces of Maguro (Tuna) sashimi.

Salmon Teriyaki Bento from Ichiban Bento ($9.50)

Next up, we tried their Salmon Teriyaki Bento. Other than it being rather pocket-friendly, it comes with a really satisfying piece of pan-friend salmon drizzled with their teriyaki sauce, rice, potato salad, fried egg & gyoza. The perfect comfort food.

Wadori Bento Set A from Wadori Yakitori ($6.90; Add $3 to upgrade to Wadori Combo Set, which comes with Chawanmushi & Canned/Free Flow Drink)

For just $6.90, The Wadori Bento Set A consists of 2 pieces of Yakitori Chicken, Pork Belly and Chicken Cheese Ball. Affordable and yet, not compromising on its taste. This might just be our favourite take away meal here.

Ume Katsuo Beef Udon from Idaten Udon ($9.80)

After all the rice dishes, we moved on to their noodle dishes. Kuriya Japanese Market comes up with special menus occasionally to constantly excite their diners. One of it is the Ume Katsuo Beef Udon which will be available from 5 January 2016 – 30 April 2016. Thick springy udon noodles in flavourful & refreshing plum broth served with sliced beef and bonito flakes. Definitely a refreshing twist to the usual udons we have had before.

Curry Tonkutsu Ramen from Men-ichi Ramen Express ($11.80)

Another of their special creation – Curry Tonkutsu Ramen. It is only available for a limited period of time from 15 October 2015 to 9 May 2016 and we are so enticed by this dish! Not only it retains the taste of the pork broth, the curry flavour adds more flavour and “kick” in it.

Cold Japanese Sweet Potato Latte ($6.50), Hot Japanese Sweet Potato Latte ($6.50)and Cold Japanese Sweet Potato Latte with Soft Serve Cream ($7.50 - exclusive to Tampines 1 outlet) from Green Pumpkin Café

To end off our (very satisfying) meal, we had their Sweet Potato Latte. Both the hot and cold, they're lightly sweetened and delicately flavoured. Topped with pastel coloured marshmallows and cinnamon powder, it’s not only a feast for our tummies, but for our cameras too. If you prefer something even icier and sweeter, have it with their soft serve cream which is exclusively sold at their Tampines 1 outlet. These specially concocted lattes are available from 19 January to 29 February 2016.
